Everything on the internet is based on IP address, but a collection of few numbers is something very hard to remember. This is where the importance of the well-known DNS comes into play. The OpenDNS was considered to be the fasted available DNS service so far. The OpenDNS is from Cisco and it used to take an average time of 20.6 ms for per query. All other DNS services available were slower than the OpenDNS so far. But now Cloudflare have come up with a new custom DNS service which has a better average time of 14.01 ms per query. The difference between the average time per query of OpenDNS and new Cloudflare DNS may look small, but this can make a great difference in the daily internet usage.

The new DNS from Cloudflare is named as 1.1.1.1 and is the first DNS from the company known for DDoS mitigation. Apart from the 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver, the company has also launched another resolver named 1.0.0.1. More than just providing better internet access time, the new DNS resolver also comes with some extra features. The Company has promised to provide users with better privacy than other DNS resolvers available currently.

Privacy on the internet has always been a big concern for all users. The current DNS resolvers where always been criticized to be less secure. But Cloudflare with the new 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver promises better privacy for all its users. More than increased connectivity speed the improved privacy is what will interest many users to make use of the new DNS resolver.  Unlike other company’s Cloudflare was never into making money by advertising. So your data will never be used to track your interest and reach out to you with appropriate ads.
