Vivo; another child of the giant BBK has announced a new smartphone on April 6. This Vivo Y50 sports a 6.53-inch display, Snapdragon 665, 8GB RAM, 128GB ROM, quad rear cameras, 5,000 mAh battery, and runs on Android 10.
These days Android device users are prone to gain full control over the device subsystem to customize look & performance. If you’re one of the Vivo Y50 users then you may be wondering whether you can unlock the bootloader, root, or install the custom ROM on Vivo Y50.
Well, due to the open-source nature of Android OS, and its wide range of customizability options, it’ll quite easy for both developers & advanced users to unlock the device bootloader, flash custom recovery, flash custom firmware apart from rooting or flashing modules, etc. There are plenty of tools available in the market for MTK devices that can also do the job for you but there are specific limitations too.

1. Can I Unlock Bootloader on Vivo Y50?
Bootloader comes with a locked condition on each device and so the Vivo models need to be unlocked first to become able to get into the Android customization world.
It seems that you’re not being able to unlock the bootloader quite easily on your Vivo Y50 because Vivo has blocked the bootloader unlocking process due to security measurements related to the device system and the user data.
An improper method or incompatible file can seriously damage your handset internally that means leads to bootloop or bricked status.
2. Is There Any Rooting Method on Vivo Y50?
Again the answer will be NO because without unlocking the bootloader on your Android device, you won’t be able to flash root or gain superuser access whatsoever.
3. Can I Install Custom ROM on Vivo Y50?
Unfortunately, as of now, you won’t be able to install any custom or modified firmware on your Vivo Y50 because you are neither able to unlock the bootloader nor gain root access. In that scenario, it’s impossible to flash a Custom ROM on your Vivo Y50 until custom firmware developers come up with a compatible build apart from a proper flashing method.
It’s highly recommended to keep checking this article periodically to be updated with this info as whenever there will be a custom firmware or bootloader unlocking or rooting method available, we’ll update here. Do not fall into other casual bootloader unlocking or custom firmware flashing guides unless you’re not sure.
