- Open Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Enable Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
- Tap Mobile Hotspot.
- Tap More options (three dots at the upper right).
- Tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.
- Change the Network name.
- Tap on Hide my device (if you want that). By hiding your device, you’ll have to manually enter the network details on the device you’re trying to connect to your Mobile Hotspot. Otherwise, just skip this.
- Select the Security type.
- Create a password.
- Afterward, hit SAVE.
Use Timeout when using Mobile Hotspot
If you tend to forget things, we highly recommend that you set a certain period when Mobile Hotspot turns off on its own. This is to prevent you from incurring unnecessary data charges as well as to prevent the battery from draining faster. To allow mobile hotspot to turn off automatically in case you forget it, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Mobile Hotspot and Tethering.
- Turn on Mobile Hotspot.
- Tap More settings icon at the upper right (three-dots).
- Tap Timeout settings.
- Select the timeout setting you want.
