How to Take a Screenshot on Samsung Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus
Hardware keys
The most straightforward method to take a screenshot on Samsung Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus is to use the hardware keys to perform that action. Here’s how to do that:

- Go to the screen you want to capture in an image
- Press and hold Volume Down and Power keys at the same time until you feel your smartphone vibrations and hear the shutter sound
Palm swipe gesture to take a screenshot
The South Korean tech giant implemented a very cool way to take a snapshot – palm swipe gesture. To activate the function go to Settings -> Advanced features -> Motions and gestures -> “Palm swipe to capture” and switch it on. When the feature is on, follow the next steps to capture a screenshot:
- Go to the screen you want to capture in an image
- Put your hand sideways and steadily swipe it across the display
Use the Bixby Assistant
Even though some Samsung Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus users don’t like Bixby, Samsung’s assistant is still useful. You can use it to take a screenshot, for example.

- Go to the screen you want to capture in an image
- Hold the Bixby button and say “take a screenshot” – you might also need to start the command with “hey, Bixby” to activate the service

Here’s how to set Bixby key to capturing screenshots:
- Go to Settings -> Advanced features -> Bixby key
- Tap on “Double press to open Bixby” and switch the “Use single press” on
- Go to Quick Commands and press on the “+” icon
- Name the command as “Screenshot,” and select “+ add a command”
- Select “Type a command” and write “take a screenshot” – confirm the selection
Whenever you want to take a screenshot on Samsung Galaxy S10, S10E, and S10 Plus, press the Bixby button.
Use Smart select
Galaxy Edge panels are some useful functions that please the Samsung Galaxy S10 users, also. You can also use Smart select to capture screenshots. Here is how to do that:
- Go to Settings -> Display -> Edge screen -> Edge panels
- Ensure that Smart Select is selected
- Once you’re on the screen you want to capture, swipe in from the right to open the Edge panel
- Continue to swipe until the Smart select appears
- Choose one of the geometrical forms that pop up and adjust it over the target screen – to take a screenshot simply tap on Done
