The autosave feature in the Last of Us 2 will be enough for most players. But in a particular situation, when you need to turn the game off, the manual save game feature will do the trick for you.

To load the game when you open it again, just go to the Load Game options, and it will show you the save slots. Select the most recent one or anyone you prefer and go to that same location where you manually saved the game before. With the autosave feature, all you need to do is resume or continue, and the game will load from the last checkpoint.
